Hey Cleveland! Let’s TRASH the TAX

You might have noticed your water bill was $32.00 higher when you received your first bill of the year 2010 from the Cleveland Division of Water. If you are one of the unlucky homeowners who doesn’t qualify for an exemption, then you will pay $96.00 more dollars this year — for garbage pick-up. Yes, you read that right—a service fee for a service that you are already paying taxes for.

You might be wondering where all the money goes. Good question. The next time you see your council REPRESENTATIVE, you might ask her/him where all the money goes. In fact, maybe you want to call your council representative and ask him/her where all that money goes.

For all the unlucky homeowners who have no choice in their trash pick-up, who have been billed an additional fee for trash pick-up, who don’t know what to do with escalating costs coming at you from the right, from the left and from the middle, you now have a choice.

Get a petition and start circulating that petition and let’s let the people of Cleveland decide if they want to pay an additional service fee for trash pick-up. When we collect enough signatures, it will be placed on the ballot for the people to decide. Have you had enough yet? or will it take additional service fees, tax hikes, assignments or whatever you want to call it to get you to take action.
